The Ten Major Stars十大主星
The Ten Major Stars are a classification of qualities distinctive to Sanmeigaku. While corresponding to the Ten Gods of BaZi, they form a system that was independently refined in Japan, and are familiar to many practitioners there. Derived from the relationships between the Day Master and the other Heavenly Stems and Hidden Stems, the ten stars each reveal a different face of the person.

The Bazen Perspective · 芭禅算命学の視点
The Ten Major Stars are a system that Sanmei refined in its own distinctive way. While they correspond one-to-one with the Ten Gods of BaZi, they were given their own names and qualitative interpretations in Japan. Yet it must be noted: the Ten Major Stars should not be read as fixed personality types. To declare "a person of Perseverance Star is this way; a person of Attunement Star is that way" narrows the original meaning of the stars. The Ten Major Stars are symbols that indicate which of ten inner motivations, all of which lie within a person, tends to manifest most strongly. All ten lie latent within every person; the chart reveals which of these most readily surfaces. Other stars, too, may awaken according to the times and circumstances. In Bazen Sanmei, the Ten Major Stars are read not as "types" but as "tendencies." The stars are not fixed labels but a map showing the direction in which energy is at work within a person.
